I’m a firm believer in freedom through destruction.
Maybe it’s the punk rock roots of my musical inclinations or the hopeless freedom generated by my love of grunge, but I truly believe that in order to grow, we must destroy that which restricts us and keeps us in place.
The part I’m trying to learn now is how to build back up.
Destruction is easy, but it can consume. No freedom was ever gained without tearing down the edifices that would bind us. Tyrannical governments, brainwashing religions, overbearing parents, societal pressures, cultural stupidity, our own misguided self-beliefs, all of it needs to be destroyed before we can build up again.
Foundations must be built before construction.
The trick is, when everything’s been torn down to its roots, what do you replace it with?
