Am I the only one who doesn’t want to put that much work into a meal? I mean, don’t get me wrong, lobster is delicious and all, but faced with a menu of dozens of other options, I’m not sure I’d pick the one that requires surgery and costs twice everything else.
I’m not afraid of hard work, but pleasure should be easy. And we aren’t eating lobster solely for sustenance or because we’re on a diet. There are way more effective (and cheaper) ways to do that.
I suppose there’s some fun in cracking the claws and digging out the last little bits of meat, to dip them into melted butter. It all sounds terribly rich and decadent, even when you know it’s what they used to feed to prisoners.
